Eight Colleges entered the Belgrove Cup this year.

There were two Groups of 4 Teams.
Rathmines College topped Group A with Inchicore College in runners up spot on goal difference. Coláiste Íde topped Group B with Pearse College in runners up spot on goal difference.
Semi Finals
Coláiste Íde beat Inchicore College in one semi-final 2-0.
Pearse College beat Rathmines College 2-0 in the other semi-final. This meant that Coláiste Íde and Pearse College progressed to the Final.
Final
The Final ended in a 0-0 draw after extra time. Coláiste Íde won the Belgrove Cup winning 4-3 on penalties thanks to their goalkeeper saving two penalties.
This helped the Coláiste Íde goalkeeper win the Player of the Tournament Award.
Coláiste Íde were presented with the City of Dublin FET Colleges Belgrove Cup Trophy.
A new trophy was presented this year as the original has no more spaces for engraving having been in circulation for over 70 years! It is on display in Rathmines College.
Overall, the tournament was played in an excellent spirit. The weather played it’s part with all matches played in sunshine.
Despite the short matches, out of 12 matches played, only two matches ended in a 0-0 scoreline.
Good to see some Colleges returning to the Belgrove Cup – Inchicore College and Crumlin College.
Thanks to the Groundsmen, Ken and Darren, for having the grounds in such great condition Thanks also to the referees who officiated all of the matches so well. Thanks to Donnchadh Clancy (Principal, ICFE) for organising the refs. Sincere thanks to the teachers from all eight Colleges/Centres for organising their respective teams. Teams don’t look after themselves!
Aidan Roche from Rathmines College has agreed to take over the organising of the Tournament from next year as Éamon McGinley will have retired by then!
